Russian Imperial Stout
A russian imperial stout is simply a stout with extra everything. Contrary to what the name suggests, the beer style is not a Russian invention, but was first brewed in 19th century England for export to the Russian court. Our interpretation is a malt-heavy beer with a large body and notes of licorice, coffee and chocolate. A steady and complex beer that is best enjoyed in moderation.
Brewmaster Daniel's comment:
“Here, no less than seven malt varieties coexist. The most important are roasted barley (gives a ton of roasted coffee), chocolate malt (gives a chocolate tone) and black malt (gives a burnt tone). ”
